Judge F.P Kimberly McFadden

On Friday, July 11, 2008, the Northampton County Court of Common Pleas unanimously elected the Honorable F.P. Kimberly McFadden as President Judge of the 3rd Judicial District. Judge McFadden has been a member of the Court of Common Pleas since 1988. Former President Judge Robert A. Freedberg, who was recently appointed to the Pennsylvania Superior Court, swore her into her new role.

Judge F.P. Kimberly McFadden was appointed to the Court of Common Pleas by Governor Robert P. Casey in 1988 and was administered the oath of office on July 14, 1988. She was elected to a full ten-year term in November of 1989 and retained by the voters for an additional ten-year term in 1999.

Judge McFadden served as a law clerk to the late President Judge Clinton Budd Palmer from 1978 to 1979. She was admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1978. Judge McFadden served as an Assistant Public Defender from 1982 until her appointment to the bench. She was a partner from 1982 to 1987 with the Easton law firm of Ziev, Giobbi and McFadden. From 1987 to her appointment to the bench, she was a partner with the firm of Giobbi and McFadden. Judge McFadden is a member of the Pennsylvania Conference of State Trial Judges, as well as the Pennsylvania and Northampton County Bar Association.

In 1990, Judge McFadden was the recipient of the TRACC (Two Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce) Athena Award. She received the YWCA Woman of the Year Outstanding Public Servant Award for 1998. Judge McFadden is active in the community and has served on the Advisory Boards of Allentown College, Bethlehem YWCA, ProJect of Easton, Inc., Lehigh Valley Task Force Against Sexual Abuse, Northampton Community College Adult Literacy Program, Ballet Guild of the Lehigh Valley, Celtic Fest, Inc., Banana Factory Council, Criminal Justice Advisory Board of Cedar Crest College and was a member of the YWCA Commission on the Status of Women. In addition, she was an assistant Girl Scout/Brownie leader from 1990-1993. Judge McFadden has been the Area Admissions Representative for her alma mater, Bryn Mawr College, for over ten years.

Judge McFadden graduated cum laude from Bryn Mawr College in 1974 with a major in French Studies and a minor in Sciences.
