The extremely high number of collection cases has required the Court to establish procedural guidelines under Administrative Order 2010-9 setting forth specific protocols that must be followed in order to keep the case active and brought to a successful conclusion.
- When service has been effected upon the Defendant and an answer has not been filed, the Plaintiff is instructed to enter a judgment within 90 days.
- If service has been effected and an answer has been filed timely the parties are directed to complete discovery within ninety (90) days.
- Ninety (90) days thereafter the Plaintiff is required to praecipe the case for arbitration.
- The Prothonotary has been directed to discontinue all credit card debt collection cases that possess one hundred eighty days (180) of continued inactivity.
