Mock Trial
The Northampton County Court in conjunction with the Pennsylvania and Northampton County Bar Associations have recognized the academic values in assisting with the state wide Mock Trial Competition and in permitting various local high schools to participate in the simulated trials at the Courthouse.

The Mock Trial Competition includes high school students acting as attorneys and witnesses with a Northampton County Judge presiding over each trial. After intense preparation, students try the case in one of the Northampton County Courtrooms. Members of the Bar Association serve as jurors and render a verdict based upon the presentation of facts by the student participants. The trial is usually followed by a question-answer period where the student participants are free to ask
questions of the judge and the attorney jurors. The Mock Trial experience has permitted thousands of students to gain an understanding of trial process and protocol through actual participation in the courtroom while preparing them for future civic responsibility. Over the years, the Mock Trial Competition in Northampton County has received praise from the local community, student participants, members of the Court, and members of the Bar Association.
