COURT OF COMMON PLEAS, NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, PA
Retirements in the Judicial Branch
During the 2005-2006 period, two valuable and dedicated employees retired from the judicial branch of government after serving several years in various roles for the Court.

Dennis J. Galligani began his employment as a Juvenile Probation Officer in 1970, and after garnering several promotions within the division, was appointed Chief Juvenile Probation Officer in 1990.

Upon completion of the new Juvenile Justice Center in 2000, Mr. Galligani was promoted to Director of both the detention and treatment components of the facility. He was responsible for staffing the sixty-bed facility, developing policies and procedures and addressing many of the issues associated with occupancy of a new building. On September 16, 2005, after thirty-five years of service, Mr. Galligani retired to seek other professional opportunities in the private sector.

Anita L. DeBona has had a varied history with our Court and demonstrated she possessed the talent to manage any responsibility assigned to her. She served as a legal secretary to former Common Pleas Judge Richard D. Grifo, President Judge Robert A. Freedberg and Judge James C. Hogan, who has taken senior status.

In 1991, she was appointed the Northampton County Law Librarian and is credited with integrating automated technology in the facility. The use of computers permitted members of the Bar Association and the public to seek legal information through a variety of methods. Ms. DeBona consolidated the Court’s local rules, placing them on both hard copy and disk, while capturing local opinions of our Court that were placed in an easily navigated software. Despite her responsibility in the Law Library, Ms. DeBona was assigned the responsibility of document management of our Court and its numerous divisions. Anita retired on October 28, 2005, permitting her the opportunity to spend time with her grandson and members of her family.

We wish both individuals well and appreciate the professional efforts they extended to their individual positions.
