De acuerdo con las directrices del Centro para el Control y la Prevención de Enfermedades (CDC por sus siglas en ingles), los residentes, empleados y visitantes de la División de Menores del Condado de Northampton, incluyendo las Secciones de Detención y Tratamiento de Menores, deben usar mascarillas independientemente de su estado de vacunación. Todas las personas que entren a una sala en la que esté presente un residente de la División de Menores y/o del centro de tratamiento deben usar mascarilla sin importar su estado de vacunación.

Judge Stephen G. Baratta

Judge Stephen G. Baratta graduated from Bangor Area High School in 1974, Lafayette College in 1978 and Fordham University School of Law in 1981. He has been admitted to practice law in both the State of New York and in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In 1981, he began his private practice in Easton, Pennsylvania.

Judge Baratta was elected in November 1997, for a ten-year term, commencing January 1, 1998. In 2007, Judge Baratta was retained for a second ten-year term. Judge Baratta is currently the President Judge of Northampton County, where he presides over civil and criminal trials. He has previously served as Administrative Judge to Domestic Relations, the Asbestos Docket, Criminal Court and Juvenile Court.

Judge Baratta has a history of governmental service, beginning in 1985 as Solicitor of Northampton County Children and Youth. In 1990, he became an Assistant County Solicitor, where his duties included representation of Northampton County Department of Human Services. In 1992, Judge Baratta was appointed to be the First Assistant District Attorney for Northampton County, where he remained until his installation as a Judge.

Throughout his career, Judge Baratta has been active in community service, serving on the boards of several community organizations, including Board of Directors of VIA of the Lehigh Valley, Inc. (a successor organization to both Lehigh Valley Association of Rehabilitation Centers, Inc. and United Cerebral Palsy) and Easton Boys and Girls Club.

Judge Baratta is a member of the Pennsylvania Conference of State Trial Judges (PCSTJ). In July 2009, Judge Baratta was elected to the office of Secretary to the PCSTJ. He currently holds the office of Vice-President for the Conference. Prior to his election, Judge Baratta served on the Education Committee, Corrections Committee and was a representative to the Executive Committee for Zone Two of the PCSTJ. Judge Baratta is also a member of the Pennsylvania and Northampton County Bar Associations. He is an active participant in the Northampton County Bar Association, where he sits on several Bar Association Committees.
