Judge Leonard N. Zito
Northampton County Court of Common Pleas

Judge Leonard N. Zito is a native of Bangor, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Nicholas A. and Rose Zito.

He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy; a 1968 graduate of the University of Scranton; and, a 1971 graduate of Villanova University School of Law.

He is the founder and past senior partner of the law partnership of Zito, Martino and Karasek, LLP. He served as the Chief Public Defender of Northampton County until his first appointment to the Bench. From 2006 to his second appointment to the Bench in September of 2008, he served as Northampton County Council Solicitor.

Judge Zito's community activities, past and present include being a member of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School Board and Past President of the Slate Belt Little League. He is also a member of the Columbia Fire Company, Roseto, Pennsylvania; North Bangor Fire Company; Bangor Elks; U.N.I.C.O., Roseto, Pennsylvania; Martocci-Capobianco American Legion Post 750; Knights of Columbus; Father DeNisco Council No. 3862; Lehigh Valley Division of the Men's Senior Baseball League; serves on the Easton Area Community Center Advisory Board; serves as a Lector at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Bangor, Pennsylvania; and is also a member of the Hi-Winders Auto Club.

Judge Zito resides in Upper Mount Bethel Township with his wife Patricia (Guida) and his two sons, Paul and Anthony. Paul is a teacher's aide at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Elementary School and Immaculate Conception Elementary School. Anthony is a U.S. Marine. His daughter Alicia serves as a Chief Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Jack A. Panella of the Pennsylvania Superior Court.
