The Northampton County Juvenile Court Home participates in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program. This program is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. It provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches to children each school day. The program was established under the National School Lunch Act, signed by President Harry Truman in 1946. Summer Food Service Program
The United States Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition division provides opportunities during the summer for families to participate in a Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). This program ensures that low-income children continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session.
